The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is delighted with the performance of Indian Athletics at the Tokyo Olympics. The board announced massive cash prizes for all Olympic medalists.
BCCI Secretary Jay Shah took to his profile and tweeted.
Gold medalist Neeraj Chopra was awarded BCCI Rs 1 crore.
BCCI has decided to give Rs 50 lakh each to Meera Bai Chanu and Ravikumar Dahiya (silver medalists).
For the other 4 bronze medalists, the board announced Rs 25 lakh. PV Sindhu, Lovelina Borghohai and Bajrang Punia get Rs 25 lakh each.
The board has announced INR 1.25 crore for the Indian men’s hockey team.
The BCCI is considered the richest cricket board in the world. Even back then, the board announced huge prizes for the Olympic medalists.
