India’s Neeraj Chopra wins historic gold medal in men’s javelin throw –

Neeraj Chopra is the name of those who follow the Olympics regularly. At the ongoing Tokyo Olympics, Indian Spearman surprised everyone with his impressive throw during qualifying. Neeraj Chopra wrote a gold medal and history in Saturday’s final. Chopra is the second Indian to win gold in the Olympics in individual sport. Neeraj Chopra reached 87.58 meters in the final.

Khandra’s 23-year-old ‘Spearman’ Neeraj Chopra of Haryana finished second in the qualifying round of 86.65m and 1.01m ahead of world leader Johannes Wetter. Neeraj became the first Indian javelin thrower in the history of Olympics.

Neeraj Chopra gained fame in sports when he won India’s first gold medal at the World Championships. Later, in Neeraj 2018, the Commonwealth’s surprise performance was demonstrated when he became the first Indian to bag a gold bag of his discipline at the four-year-old event in Australia. Even at the Asian Games, he received gold from his discipline.

For his gold medals at the Asian Games 2018, CWG 2018 and the Asian Athletic Championship 2017, Neeraj was awarded the Arjuna Award in 2018.
