Flying Sikh Milkha Singh dreamed of winning a gold medal at the Olympics. He came close to winning medals in track and field events but finished 4th at the 1960 Rome Olympics.
Later, he dreamed of seeing an athlete’s gold seal. Today, Neeraj Chopra wrote history by snapping a gold medal at the track event.
Immediately after winning the medal, Indian Spearman Milkha Singh presented the medal. The 23-year-old had spoken to the media in Tokyo and revealed the same. “I dedicate this medal to Milkha Singh. I hope he sees me wherever he is,” he said.
Neeraj Chopra took gold in the javelin throw competition. He defeated all the strongest competitors and came up with an outstanding throw of 87.58m on his second attempt.
Milkha Singh died in June 2021.
